A delicious and spicy Chinese street food classic, these Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are marinated in soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and chili, then grilled to perfection. Originating from the Sichuan province, they’re easy to make and bursting with flavor, perfect for a snack or main course.
- 1.5–2 lbs chicken breast or thighscut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlicminced
- 1-inch piece gingergrated
- 1–2 chili pepperssliced
- 1/4 cup peanut or vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
**For the Bang Bang Sauce:**
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon srirachaadjust to taste
- 1 tablespoon honey
Instructions
**Prepare the Marinade:**
In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chili peppers, oil, honey, cumin, coriander, and paprika. Mix well.
**Marinate the Chicken:**
Add chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).
**Prepare the Skewers:**
Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, leaving small gaps for even cooking.
**Grill the Skewers:**
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Cook skewers for 6–8 minutes per side or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.
