Ingredients
  

  • **For the dough:**
  • - 1 cup water
  • - 2 Β½ tbsp granulated sugar
  • - Β½ tsp salt
  • - 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • - 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • **For frying:**
  • - Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • **For coating:**
  • - Β½ cup granulated sugar
  • - 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and 2 tbsp oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  • Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Let it rest while you heat the oil.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  • Pipe 4–6 inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil, using scissors to cut the ends. Fry 2–3 at a time.
  • Fry until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl, then roll warm churros in the mixture until fully coated.
  • Serve warm, optionally with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche.
