Equipment

  • - Large mixing bowl
  • - Stand mixer (optional)
  • - Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • - Small cookie scoop (optional)

Ingredients

  • - 1 lb 16 oz ground pork sausage (hot or mild)
  • - 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • - 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • - 2 cups Bisquick baking mix or all-purpose flour + 3 tsp baking powder + 1 tsp salt
  • - ½ tsp garlic powder optional
  • - ½ tsp onion powder optional
  • - ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional, for spice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and Bisquick mix. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Mix well using a stand mixer or your hands until fully combined. The mixture should form a dough-like consistency.
  • Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  • Chill the sausage balls in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, flipping the sheet halfway, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
