- - 14 oz block extra-firm tofu pressed and cubed
- - 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
- - 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
- - 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
- - 1 clove garlic minced
- - 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
- - 1/2 tsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder for extra crispiness
- - Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes or grated ginger
Press the tofu for at least 15–20 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oil, vinegar, garlic, maple syrup, and cornstarch until smooth.
Add tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Marinate for at least 15 minutes (up to 1 hour for deeper flavor).
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread tofu on the sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
Let cool slightly and serve as desired!
